The Narrative

Dead Ale Wives, Dungeons & Dragons mp3

  • Setting

  • The setting in this story is in the living room of a typical teenager's domicile.

  • Characters

  • The characters in this story sound very much like young pubescent teenagers that don't have a life.

  • Narrator

  • Narrator speaks to the audience and offers an explanation for the strange behavior of the characters.

  • Events

  • There are several events that are involved in this story. The opening ceremony, the introduction to the story, the argument, the drinking, and many more that contributed to the idea that Dungeons & Dragons game is "Satan's Game."

  • Temporal Relations

  • Generally chronological however there are some flashbacks presented by the narrator.

  • Casual Relations

  • The inability to do push-ups causes the need to play games that other people find distasteful.

  • Audience

  • Any skeptic of the original role playing game Dungeons & Dragons.

  • Theme

  • The theme here is that the teens have cercum to the devil because of beeing teesed by there peers.

  • Genre

  • I think irony is the major player here.

The Game Experiment

Metaphor for Kony resembles War and Slaughter house:

Kony's Game
Mindless Killing
Slaughter
Radar screen of foreign policy
invisible children
Kony is invisible

Metaphor in relation to the New game:
household name
Famous

Part of the experiment metaphors that may come of April 20, 2012:
a bunch of littles
Become their voice
Smart
Thorough
Global Community

Crucial time in history

Knowing the April 20th event is at hand, I'm wondering what it is that I can do to help the cause.  The man described in this video needs to be stopped.  When using the words used in this video, I feel hatred toward this man.  But when describing the community as a global protector, the little guy being the hero, that hatred goes away into, "lets do something."  It puts a thought in my mind that this man should be stopped but peacefully. Not murdered like he's done, but incarcerated in a place that he can learn about the crimes he has committed.  Nicely done on this one. I'm looking forward to the next guy they go after.

Ideological Criticism

Human Rights

To some people, this little symbol is just a button on a calculator or even a symbol on a math equation. In fact some use this symbol for the word equation. Make it yellow with a square blue background and now you have the makings of a controversial entity called the Human Rights Campaign.

The controversy really lies in the non-supporters of equal rights for people. Equal rights for the same men and women that protect our families, homes, and country. And I don't just mean military, fire, and police. I mean our neighbors, aunts, uncles, grandparents, parents or even siblings. These people are apart of our communities and deserve the equality that we all share as free market society. Only communist would regulate a business such as marriage. Just think of the revenue that can be generated by such a thing.

In todays society, people get married for the tax benefit or even medical benefit. The rights of families sharing equality amongst other American families should and will be afforded to everyone; just like it was done for poor families several hundred years ago, and African Americans just a few decades ago.

Choosing an Artifact

Choosing an artifact is the hardest part for me. As I am reading through the chapters, I'm thinking about what I want to use. Should I use a movie? Or maybe something with more meat in it like politics?

The rubric suggests politics. Being that I haven't watched the news in months due to an excessive amount of work both school and work, I'm not sure what's going on in the political world. I'm sure I'll have something ready in an hour or two for you to see.

Politics
Entertainment
Both?

Im thinking both.

Looks like I'm picking a speech. But which one? Hmmm

I think this is what I'll be using. Mitt is not at a pulpit but he does talk about some things he has memorized from past speeches.

As a reference I need to look here.

Thank you for this link about Mitt Romney
Helps me with history

Trying to keep with the rubric, here are some answers.

Who is speaking (the persona)? A candidate for president of the United States.

What's the occasion (justification)? Hang out with Mitt Romney From time 11:13 to time 17:26

Who is the audience? The audience is tech savvy people that know enough to get on Google Hangout. The immediate audience is a group of volunteers for Mitt's campaign.

What is the rhetor's claim? Gas prices fallows a presidential pollicy to see energy prices rise.

What is the logical appeal (logos)? Talks about moving to wind and solar being expensive

Inductive, deductive reasoning? The president should be doing the opposite Open drilling and the pipeline through canada. (conclusion is vote for me and I'll change this)

What is it's credible appeal (ethos)? From michigan state and his brother as well. You are just like me if you are from there.

What is it's emotional appeal (pathos)? Soccer mom's cant get to and from school, small business man can't get from house to house. Substitute teacher can't take work because its too far away.

What is the artifact's structure? The structure of this artifact is Q&A

How does language impact the goal of meaning? I don't believe the president is doing what he should be doing.

If spoken, how is the artifact delivered? The artifact is delivered "candidly" on Google+ Hangout. Some of the answers for this seem rehearsed, especially from when the Google representative asks questions.

Was the intended effect met? The intended effect was met. It says that the president isn't doing what we want him to do and get's us feeling mad about it.

One of the things I wanted to correlate between what Dr. Young said to me about Aristotle I wanted to mention that I think Aristotle would have loved Google+ Hang Out.
